kelp is a lizard-like monster who used to live in the deep sea. her aquatic upbringing is not apparent in her biology, but it doesn't bother her since she tries to disconnect anyway.
kelp is a huge jokester and loves to have fun. she thinks of herself as slick and cunning, though more could be said about her scales than her way with words. she has a drawn out criminal record in the village she lives near, but she's quick with escapes and nobody really is in any rush to stop her petty thieving.
she lives in a swamp; an homage to her roots while living on land as she wished. though her primary diet is omnivorous (mainly fish and seaweed), kelp has an iron stomach and eats her weight in trash near daily. though not a habit born from food shortages, or the trash of huge nutritional value, she can't get sick from anything she eats and feels the need to test these boundaries.
her partner-in-crime (in theory) is ditka, an alien who was mysteriously transported to her world with no current way to get home. she gives xem a hard time, but it's all in good fun- she's just glad xe's willing to hang out with her and not get her in trouble.
fun fact: kelp was originally made as a pop'n music fan character- and she previously had a more obviously-aquatic form. i separated her from pop'n music very quickly since i liked the design, but thought it didn't really fit in the context of the serious she was 'supposed' to be made for. the aquatic form was abandoned because 1) i liked her bipedal lizard one better and 2) it was kind of clunky and didn't work with her super well.
